Just prior to the return of market-driven economies to the region, the company became the first U.S. real estate firm to undertake development projects there, and continues its role as the region’s preeminent developer. In recognition of his long and distinguished career, Gene has been honored with the Central & Eastern European Lifetime Achievement Award; the Eurobuild Lifetime Achievement Award, and the real estate industry’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the Urban Land Institute.
