The John Hancock Center is a 100-story iconic skyscraper located in the Magnificent Mile district of Chicago. The third tallest building in Chicago and the 16th tallest in the world, the building was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and was completed in 1969. It underwent extensive renovations in 1998. In 2007, Golub & Company and Goldman Sachs & Co.’s Whitehall Fund acquired the development.
The Hancock offers 880,000 square feet of office space, 153,000 square feet of retail space on the lower levels, a 710-space parking garage, an observatory and rooftop broadcast antennas (about 700 residential condominiums were not included in Golub’s acquisition). Golub sold the property in 2013.
