Originally known as the Conway Building, the Burnham Center shows the evolution of a classic Chicago-style skyscraper by incorporating all its traditional elements, while also delivering the impression of being a modern building. The building was recognized by the National Park Service with a listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
